The motion control system serves as the central nerve and muscle of manufacturing equipment, constituting a crucial link in achieving intelligent manufacturing. Siemens has been deeply involved in the field of motion control for over 40 years and places significant emphasis on innovation and R&D in this domain. "The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is one of the most economically vibrant regions globally and a high-level hub of scientific and technological innovation talents. Establishing the R&D and innovation center of the motion control business in Shenzhen enables better utilization of local talents and geographical advantages, precise and rapid responses to customer demands, and infusion of vitality into the 'intelligent transformation and digital transformation' of the industry in China and worldwide," stated Frank Golueke, General Manager of the Asia-Pacific Headquarters of Siemens' Motion Control Business. The Shenzhen R&D and Innovation Center is an essential component of the Asia-Pacific headquarters of Siemens' global motion control business. It possesses a professional software and hardware development team and is capable of comprehensively applying digital technologies such as digital twins, significantly enhancing the efficiency and technical level in each link of product development. The center is equipped with a professional system testing laboratory that can satisfy various testing and certification requirements and achieve efficient R&D and rapid verification of motion control software. As a new addition to Siemens' global R&D layout, the Shenzhen R&D and Innovation Center will lead the low-carbon design of transmission products, support the R&D efforts of products in multiple Siemens factories worldwide, and assist Chinese and global customers in enhancing their technical competitiveness in the field of motion control. This center is an important implementation project of the comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement signed by Siemens (China) Co., Ltd. and the People's Government of Guangdong Province in September 2023. It will offer more positions related to scientific and technological innovation in the local area and provide support for the discovery, training, and reservation of more digital innovative talents for China's industry.
